We have been asked a number of questions about the Open Standards for transport and mobility account interoperability we have specified and launched recently. There are a number of standards in existence that provide interoperable transport functionality.
Therefore we though it would be useful to explain what we have NOT created and where this information can be found:
- The Mobility Data Specification (MDS) is for providing real-time information about vehicles, their location and physical condition they are in.
https://github.com/openmobilityfoundation/mobility-data-specification
- The Google General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) provides routing (e.g. stops, routing and paths) information.
https://developers.google.com/transit/gtfs
- The Dutch API Blueprint for MaaS provides a mobility booking specification, as well as a lot of other useful transit API guidance.
